Oceanside CA— Early this morning, August 12, 2021 at 12:46am, Oceanside fire units were dispatched to a reported structure fire in an apartment building at 3760 North Way. There were multiple calls to 9-1-1 reporting smoke and fire seen. As a result, the response was upgraded to a working structure fire resulting in additional units responding quicker.

Engine 214 was the first unit on scene approximately four minutes after being dispatched. They were able to confirm that there was a fire on the first floor of an apartment building and they pulled hose lines for fire extinguishment. Engine 214 was able to initiate firefighting efforts in the involved unit while deploying subsequent arriving units to assist in halting fire spread to the rest of the building.
The fire was brought under control at approximately 01:16. The fire was contained to the unit of origin with minimal damage to surrounding units. Red Cross was contacted to assist two displaced adults and a dog.
There were no injuries to residents or firefighters on this incident. An on duty Fire Investigator for the Oceanside Fire Department remains on scene to determine cause and origin for the fire.
