Fallbrook CA— On August 7, 2021, at about 8:00 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies and fire personnel responded to a nursery in the 5400 block of Rainbow Creek Road in Fallbrook for a male who was a victim of an assault.
They found thirty-three-year-old Ismael Alberto Resendiz stabbed. Resendiz was transported to a local area hospital. Unfortunately, Resendiz was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded and assumed responsibility of the investigation. Deputies contacted fifty-seven-year-old Luis Enrique Muniz at the nursery. During the investigation, Muniz was identified as the person who stabbed Resendiz.
Muniz was arrested for one charge of 187(a) PC – Murder and booked into Vista Detention Facility.
Resendiz was an Escondido resident. Muniz lived at the nursery. Resendiz’s family has been notified of his death.
The motivation and circumstances are currently under investigation.
