Oceanside CA— Tuesday afternoon at approximately 4:38pm fire units responded to a “smoke check” in the area near the 1300 block of Dubuque Street that was upgraded to a working vegetation fire.

Upon arrival, Oceanside Engine 211 (E211) confirmed a vegetation fire which was slow moving in steep terrain and started at a ¼ acre in size.
Due to wet conditions over the last few days, the fire was slow moving with minor expansion following suppression efforts by fire units. Ultimately, the fire grew to just under two acres before the fire was extinguished.
Fire crews remained on scene for an additional 30 minutes for incident overhaul.
Carlsbad Fire Department provided Mutual Aid for this incident.
There were no injuries to any firefighters or citizens on this incident.
