Carlsbad CA— Late last night, November 1, at 11:18 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department was called to the intersection of El Camino Real and Cannon Road due to a traffic collision.
Officers found the female driver of a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero had been traveling eastbound on Cannon Road and the female driver of a 2006 Acura had been traveling northbound on El Camino Real when they collided.
The driver of the Mitsubishi had fatal injuries. The Acura driver was not injured.
The Acura driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The identity of the deceased driver will be confirmed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of the collision is yet to be determined. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
