San Diego County Holiday DUI Patrols

San Diego County CA—With New Year’s Day just around the corner, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department wants to remind everyone not to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Deputies will be conducting increased impaired driving patrols across the county from through January 1, 2022.

So far this year, 6,476 people have been booked into jail for impaired driving in San Diego County.  The Sheriff’s Department made 880 of those arrests.
“Driving while impaired is a bad decision any time of year,” said Sheriff Bill Gore.  “Do the responsible thing and don’t get behind the wheel while under the influence.”

A reminder: driving under the influence doesn’t just refer to alcohol.  Prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs and marijuana can also impair, especially in combination with alcohol and other drugs.

If you see an impaired driver on the road, call the Sheriff’s Department at (858) 565-5200.  Remember: Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving.
