Three-weekend festival features jaw-dropping acrobats, live cultural performances, Asian-inspired culinary delights and chance to meet potbellied pigs

San Diego CA— SeaWorld San Diego’s Lunar New Year is full of festive fun, food and good fortune for the whole family! This festival celebrating the Chinese New Year features jaw-dropping Chinese acrobats, mouthwatering cuisine, traditional cultural performances and, in recognition of Year of the Pig, an all-new, “Pig Garden,” where guests can meet some of SeaWorld’s rescued potbellied pigs up close. San Diego’s premier Lunar New Year celebration kicks off Feb. 2–3 and continues Feb. 9–10 and 15–18, 2019.

Lunar New Year at SeaWorld, at a glance:

NEW! In honor of Lunar New Year’s Year of the Pig, guests can meet some of SeaWorld’s rescued pigs up close in an interactive area near the Skytower. These adorable potbellied pigs —which is any of a breed of small pigs originating in southeastern Asia and having a straight tail, potbelly, swayback, and black, white, or black and white coat—were taken in from rescue organizations and became part of the park’s Pets Rule! family.
NEW! An all-new teeter board act will be featured as part of awe-inspiring performances by the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei. These graceful acrobats combine agility with gymnastics in a mesmerizing, 25-minute show in the park’s Mission Bay Theater. In addition to the teeter board, other spellbinding performances include contortion, lion dancing, and juggling.
Lunar New Year Festival Area: Located just south of the landmark SeaWorld Skytower, this festively-decorated area brims with cultural entertainment, including Taiko drummers, lion dancers and fan dancers.
Incredible Animal Visits: Visitors will have a chance to get up close to SeaWorld’s Eurasian eagle owl, Asian small-clawed river otter and other animals.
Culinary Offerings: SeaWorld’s Lunar New Year festival will overflow with Asian-inspired flavors, including ramen, stir fry, bao sandwiches, aroma teas and more.
Lunar New Year at SeaWorld is included with park admission. SeaWorld’s Annual Silver Pass is an incredible value that provides guests with a year full of fun at SeaWorld! With a Pass in hand, visitors can be among the first to experience the world’s first-of-its-kind coaster Tidal Twister (slated to open in time for summer), as well as enjoy all the exciting seasonal events the park has to offer in 2019.
