Oceanside CA— On the heels of their grand opening, Mission Pacific Hotel, a JdV by Hyatt hotel and The Seabird Resort, a Destination by Hyatt hotel are pleased to offer guests an authentic taste of Oceanside Beach with thoughtfully curated local collaborations to celebrate the community’s creative spirit and homegrown talent. Whether it’s surfing and skateboarding classes with iconic industry pros or collaborating with the Oceanside Museum of Art, the cultural and creative energies of Oceanside come to life within these breezy seaside settings.

Local Experiences
Oceanside Museum of Art
Upon entering Mission Pacific and The Seabird, guests are greeted by public spaces and guestrooms distinctly outfitted with 289 artworks and site installations curated by Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA). Each property has its own distinct art collection, displaying bold and innovative works from along the cultural corridor between Los Angeles and Tijuana. Every art piece has been thoughtfully curated to emphasize a poignant sense of place and celebrate the community’s diverse talent. A total of 123 Southern California artists – who have an established cultural tie to the region – are represented across the collections. Featuring original prints, paintings, sculptures, large-scale installations and a rotating selection of art exhibitions from OMA, this collaboration helps to further cement the properties and city of Oceanside as a premier creative hub while offering a distinct Southern California cultural experience. Additionally, The Seabird is home to OMA West, a rotating art gallery that serves as an extension of OMA.
Skate and Surf School
As a nod to Oceanside’s illustrious surf culture, private surf lessons from Duran Barr, third-generation Oceanside resident and only local professional surfer and instructor of his kind, is available to guests at The Seabird and Mission Pacific. In tandem with North County Surf Academy, guests are provided with premium surfing equipment, a beach essentials gift bag and a surfboard-shaping tutorial to round-out their day on the pristine coast. A one-of-a-kind Skate School program also serves as a coveted excursion at Mission Pacific and The Seabird, which pays homage to Oceanside’s beloved action sport culture. Guests can also take part in guided lessons from Neal Mims, a lauded Olympic skateboard coach and talent behind Golden State Skateboarding, followed by a tour of local skateboard sites as well as a custom skateboard-making experience.
Brixton
Delivering the gentle, dreamy, Southern California coastal experience, the thoughtful design and style touch points at Mission Pacific extend far beyond artwork. To further complement the contemporary yet approachable aesthetic, hotel employees have flexibility in choosing their own unique style with looks crafted by Brixton, a lifestyle headwear, apparel, and accessories brand. Helping to deliver a service and style that exudes warmth and ease, this homegrown Oceanside brand approaches classic silhouettes, reinterpreted for modern consumers who value craftsmanship and creativity – which speaks to the very ethos of the property.
Bagby Beer
While Mission Pacific and The Seabird offer six intuitive dining concepts, the community’s craft beverage scene is seamlessly integrated to include Bagby Beer Company. At Mission Pacific, Bagby Beer has created a special beer for Oceanside’s first and only rooftop bar, The Rooftop at Mission Pacific, along with a rotating craft beer selection. Additionally, an “Après Surf” concept at The Rooftop spotlights Oceanside’s breezy surf aesthetic. The area’s top surfers will lend a creative hand to Après Surf, complemented by an array of local beer selections and Baja-influenced fare for guests and surfers alike to enjoy. At The Seabird’s signature farm-to-table restaurant, Piper, Bagby Beer will also debut a special California-style IPA, further highlighting Oceanside’s burgeoning craft beer scene.
URBN WATER CO.
Further underscoring the connection to clean, local purveyors, both The Seabird and Mission Pacific worked with Oceanside-founded URBN WATER CO. to bring forth an alkaline refillable hydration program. Available for all hotel guests, the alkaline water is meticulously filtered using the company’s exclusive 13-Step water purification system for the perfect blend of hydration and taste. In addition, all water stations utilize unique environmentally friendly and refillable bottled containers to help guests stay hydrated and energized throughout their stay.
Pacific Coast Spirts
Pacific Coast Spirits is working with The Seabird’s buzzy ocean-view bar, The Shore Room, to offer a proprietary line of spirits by award-winning distiller Nicholas Hammond. The small batch craft distillery founded in Oceanside uses local ingredients to create tasteful products that embody the mountain to ocean culture of California. Guests are able to enjoy these handcrafted, small batch spirits as they watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean from The Shore Room’s vibrant lobby location or wrap-around porch adorned with firepits.
Suja Juice
The Seabird Resort has also collaborated with Oceanside-based cold pressed juice company Suja Juice. The property offers full-service and health-conscious juice options throughout the resort. Whether lounging poolside at The Shelter Club or socializing at the Kitchen Table at The Shore Room, guests can enjoy a range of Suja’s high quality, organic and functional beverages.
