The city of San Marcos has launched a fundraising drive for its annual Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza.

Donations have reached $1,475 so far, with a goal of $5,500. Members of the community can donate through a GoFundMe campaign launched on behalf of the city.

The celebration takes place July 4 at Bradley Park, 1587 Linda Vista Drive. Festivities begin at 6 p.m., with the fireworks starting at 9 p.m. The event, which is free to residents and their guests, features live music from the band Liquid Blue, kids’ activities and food, according to the fundraising campaign’s announcement.

Donors who give $30 or more will be listed in the event program distributed at the event. Those who give $250 or more will also be listed in the program in addition to the event’s newspaper ad if received by June 24. Company donations are also welcome.
