San Marcos officials invite the public to a Coffee with the Creek online meeting June 10 and 12 as work moves full-speed on the San Marcos Creek Project.

The project is designed to develop and restore the area along San Marcos creek into a new downtown area called the Creek District.

“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our team has needed to innovate new ways of reaching our community about this important project,” Principal Engineer Lewis Clapp said in a city announcement. “Through our Coffee with the Creek outreach, we get to bring together folks from our team and our community in a COVID-safe manner while still maintaining the casual and authentic feel of these kinds of events. Our team is looking forward to this event and sharing all the exciting updates surrounding the San Marcos Creek Project.”

The June 10 get-together runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and 10 a.m. to noon on June 12. Officials will answer questions from community members following presentations on the status of the project. The meetings will be hosted on the Zoom platform.

Participants can register for events and submit questions online at san-marcos.net/creek.
