City Notes logo.Residents may see smoke from these training fires, but Fire Department personnel will be on scene doing the ignition and extinguishment. These burns are conducted both to provide training to firefighters in advance of the upcoming wildland fire season, and also to remove non-native grasses from areas. In the event a citizen sees a fire with no fire department personnel present, or one that is south of state Route 76, they are asked to call 911 immediately.

For more information relating to the training fires, call the Fire Department at 760-435-4101 or email [email protected].
