A Sprinter commuter train struck and injured a man in Vista late Friday, Oct. 7, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported.

The accident happened at about 8:20 p.m. after the train left the North County Transit District’s Buena Creek Transit Station in Vista, according to an incident report. The train was traveling between 30 and 35 mph when it hit the unidentified man, who authorities said was about 60 years old.

Vista paramedics transported the victim to Palomar Medical Center for treatment, the report stated.
