A Few Words We Missed Last Week

Here are a few more words/expressions left over from last week:
“Acumpucky” – anything you’d call that doesn’t have a name,but does have a glue-like substance. “Do-hickie” – any small item you can’t think of its name. (Can be interchanged with “Whatchamacall it”).
And then there’s “Come on over, sit on the porch and we’ll ‘chew the fat,” or you also could have a “chin wag.” And, don’t forget the Italian-American slang, “Copesetic” — all is well – as in “Everything’s copesetic).
“Yonder” a term used by rural American’s to specify an unspecified distance – as in “I reckon it’s over yonder a piece.” Further translation: “I think it’s over that way some unknown distance.”
Another rural exclamatory word: “Gobsmack”
as in “That sucker landed gobsmack in the middle of the road!”
CREATION — The good Lord didn’t create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.
