Solana Beach winds hit 65 mph during Monday storm

Solana Beach and Del Mar were among the communities that experienced the strongest wind gusts in San Diego County as a storm swept through the region Monday, local weather officials reported.

Sunshine Gardens, Encinitas shops work to recover from flood

Sunshine Gardens and other Encinitas businesses suffered severe damage the weekend of April 10 after the San Diego region experienced unusually high rainfall. Despite the losses, the nursery and North County Olive Oil have been able to reopen. San Dieguito Tennis Club is assessing mudslide damage.

A swarm of travelers is riding in on light Santa Ana winds along the North Coast following this winter’s record rainfall. Painted lady butterflies, which have been observed in spots throughout the county over the past few weeks, have arrived in even more numbers in Encinitas and surrounding communities.
