Scripps Encinitas opens Lusardi Tower

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas recently opened a new three-story patient tower, adding 36 private rooms, a new intensive care unit, a postpartum unit and a perioperative monitoring area to the North County campus in what health system officials called a transformational expansion of its capabilities.

Solana Beach resident named to Scripps Health board

Jolene Koester, Solana Beach resident and past interim chancellor of the California State University system, and Rick Bregman, retired San Diego president of Bank of America and former national co-head of its health care banking, were elected last month to the 18-member Scripps Health Board of Trustees, which provides guidance and oversight for the San Diego-based health system.
