MiraCosta first-generation student receives Jack Kent Cooke scholarship

MiraCosta College student John Siebelink has been selected to receive the prestigious and highly competitive Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, which pays up to $55,000 for tuition, books and housing annually for up to three years while they secure their bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university.

Work begins on major addition to MiraCosta College’s Cardiff campus

Local college executives see more room for women in higher-ed leadership

California State University San Marcos President Karen Haynes retired in June after five decades of working in higher education. Among her accomplishments over the years, she cites being able to lead two universities as a president. Haynes said this is a rarity in both the number of years served and for a woman to work in two presidential roles in academia.
